iTunes - Importing Audio Files Into the Music Library
People who use iTunes to manage and play their music files, choose to also have iTunes manage music files that they have acquired from other software programs. In this article you will learn how to add add music files to iTunes library. iTunes has many options that allow users to add music files to iTunes library, including ripping CDs and importing music from other software. For music files that you can't add by these means, you can add these music files to iTunes by adding a folder of music.
Open iTunes and make menu bar visible.
Find the music you want to add to iTunes.
Check the file extension to make sure they are compatible with iTunes.
Choose File > add folder to library. If you do not see the file, edit or view option, press Ctrl and B together on your keyboard.
Locate the folder on your computer that contains the music you wish to import into iTunes. For many windows 10, 8, 7 users, this will be their Music folder located in their Libraries. There may be several other folders located here, so make sure to choose the correct folder. If you are importing from software such as ION EZ Vinyl and Tape Converter, the folder will be labeled with the artist name as well as the album title.
Once you select your folder you should now see your newly imported files in your iTunes library.
